Dr Kevin Liou
Interventional Cardiologist
Dr Kevin Liou is a highly qualified interventional and imaging cardiologist with a particular interest and expertise in complex coronary intervention, advanced echocardiography, and the provision of evidence-based, personalised cardiovascular care.
Dr Liou graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales and later obtained a Master of Public Health with Merit from the University of Sydney. He was awarded a joint postgraduate research fellowship by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the National Heart Foundation of Australia. He holds a PhD focusing on advanced coronary diagnostics, specialised echocardiography, and coronary inflammation.
His research is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and has resulted in numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as presentations at national and international conferences.
Dr Liou completed his advanced training in interventional cardiology at the esteemed Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, United Kingdom. He then returned to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney to undertake a further 12 months of advanced training in complex interventional techniques.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Liou holds academic appointments at both the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University, where he actively contributes to the education and mentorship of medical students and junior doctors. Clinically, he practices at the Prince of Wales Public and Private Hospitals and the Eastern Heart Clinic in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Dr Liou is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
